Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

Position: Intake Coordinator Supervisor



The Intake Coordinator Supervisor coordinates the intake, placement, and evaluation of children from initial contact with parents through CPSE meetings. To serve as a liaison between the Early Learning Center and the CPSE/CSE Administrators for children attending the Early Learning Center.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Special Education and/or Early Childhood Education, New York State certification in Special Education N/K-12, Students with Disabilities Birth-Grade 2.


Intake Coordinator Supervisor Principal Responsibilities:



  1. Coordinate initial intake process for evaluations and referrals to CPSE, including scheduling meetings with the CPSE's.
  2. Monitor evaluation schedule to ensure that evaluations are completed within the mandated timeline.
  3. Liaison with outside community-based organizations to establish linkages for referrals for evaluations and other services.
  4. Follow up on all consultants and/or professional staff in completing all required evaluations and submission of all administrative paperwork within mandated timelines.
  5. Supervise the Assistant Intake Coordinator and the Intake Assistant.
  6. Prepare and update class lists of children.
