Tesla is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Controls Technician to support operations at Gigafactory New York. This role is critical in ensuring the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our facilities equipment, systems, and infrastructure. What You'll Do
  • Develop, program, and optimize multi-disciplinary control systems with a focus on reliability and efficiency
  • Provide advanced controls, instrumentation, and troubleshooting support for facilities equipment and systems
  • Design, configure, and test control panels, terminal boxes, and communications networks (BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet)
  • Capture, analyze, and interpret system performance data to drive improvements and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance, vendor support, and system upgrade projects
  • Support continuous improvement through controls optimization, remote programming, and operator-friendly HMI design
  • Champion a strong safety culture across all facilities operations

What You'll Bring
  • Technical certification, trade school, or military background preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with industrial control systems (Allen Bradley PLCs preferred) or facilities equipment operations and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices including OSHA, LOTO, NFPA 70E, and emergency response procedures
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, and related facility systems
  • Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs. and work at heights up to 50 ft.
  • Highly adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and ownership mindset aligned with Tesla's mission and values

    Expected Compensation
    • Automated Systems Technician I - $28.80 - $33.52/hour
    • Automated Systems Technician II - $34.63 - $38.28/hour
    • Automated Systems Technician III - $37.38 - $43.44/hour
    + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
