Position Summary

The Undergraduate Program Assistant is a work-study position that supports the smooth operation and outreach efforts of the department. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a communication strategy (such as social media and email outreach), assisting both the program and department administrators with organizational tasks, and working directly with the program director to help coordinate events and special projects. The student will also represent the department at campus events by tabling and engaging with the public.

Responsibilities include:

Create and manage social media posts, newsletters, and email outreach to support the department's communication strategy.

Assist the program and department administrators with clerical tasks, scheduling, and general office support.

Update and maintain bulletin boards, the department website, and printed materials to keep information current and accessible.

Work closely with the program director to plan, publicize, and support departmental events and special projects.

Design flyers, manage RSVP lists, and help coordinate logistics for lectures, workshops, and community gatherings.

Table at campus events to promote the program, share information, and engage with prospective and current students

Minimum qualifications:

Work-study Qualified

Ability to work independently and in teams.

Ability to meet in person and via Zoom for regular scheduled meetings.

Excellent writing and communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Access to a computer.

Sustainability Studies Minor
