Responsibilities

Centennial Peaks Hospital has been providing psychiatric services to the Denver-metro area for more than 30 years. Located in beautiful Louisville, CO, our 104-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness including chemical dependency. Centennial Peaks offers unique and individualized programming for adolescents and adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities, and our dynamic leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department, ECT Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs.

The Business Office Manager manages and directs the activities of the Business Office billing, collection and clerical staff, financial counseling and data processing staff (at the option of the Chief Financial Officer).

JOB DUTIES:

  • Negotiates external agency contracts.
  • Assists CFO in reviewing and determining accounts for placement with external collecting agencies.
  • Oversees on-line data processing system.
  • Oversees the performance of Patient Account Representatives including performance, mentoring and counseling, disciplining, and recommending termination.
  • Oversees employees, environment to ensure compliance departmental, hospital safety policies, and procedures.
  • Performs tasks including the billing, follow up and collection of patient accounts from a collectible status.
  • Maintain MIDAS denial log to ensure accounts are reserved at the correct amounts and added appropriately, and most up to date.
  • Facilitate weekly accounts receivable review. Assists and oversees insurance verification.
  • Assists patients/families with financial arrangements.
  • Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining collections.
  • Generates computer reports daily.
  • Reviews the daily cash deposit for accuracy and posts cash to patient accounts completed by the Patient Account Representatives.
  • Assists Utilization Review in monitoring patient benefits.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years Business office supervisory experience in a hospital setting required. Computer literacy and proficiency with software applications are essential. Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar certification preferred. Prefer 5 years of finance, general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and collections experience. Strong oral, written and problem-solving skills required.

Licensure/Certification: CPA preferred.
