The MIL Corporation is looking for an A/V Technician II to support one or more ongoing AV/Video Teleconferencing (VTC) projects for our government customers at our Lexington Park, MD location. The A/V Technician will work with Lead Technicians and Engineers to gain valuable experience in AV development technologies.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Stage-2 testing of received A/V equipment

  • Builds AV racks based of drawings provided by the engineering team

  • Labels communications infrastructure including cable, panels, patch cords and electronics

  • Assists tenured technicians with the installation and mounting of equipment, such as monitors, speakers, and microphones, to ceilings and walls in secure spaces

  • Assists with the fabrication, termination, and installation of AV cabling

  • Assists with the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of various AV systems

  • Assists in troubleshooting and diagnosing existing AV systems

  • Performs inventory management and record configuration information on installed equipment and software modules

Travel

Candidates must be willing and able to travel CONUS, and OCONUS sites up to three weeks at a time. Total travel is approximately 30%.

Required Qualifications

  • Passion and motivation to learn A/V technology areas

  • 3+ years of experience performing testing and/or integration of electronics equipment

  • Ability to follow basic flow diagrams

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Good verbal and written communications abilities

  • Experience using MS Office products

  • Must be able to lift items up to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) limits

  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding

  • Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped, or confined spaces

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Must maintain a valid passport

Desired Qualifications

  • J-STD Certification(s)

  • Experience with testing fiber and/or copper

  • AV certifications a plus

Education

A high school diploma or GED

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

Compensation

The SCA (Service Contract Act) role at The MIL Corporation is subject to the regulations and guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor. As an SCA position, it is classified as a service contract and is subject to specific wage determinations and benefit requirements mandated by the government.

The compensation and benefits for the SCA role at The MIL Corporation will be in accordance with the prevailing wage rates and benefits specified by the Department of Labor for the specific job classification and location. The current rate is $25.72 - $35.64 per hour. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
