To coordinate and conduct molecular epidemiological research projects for the Reproductive Molecular Epidemiology Research and Education Program (RMEREP).

Research Operations

* Function as a specialist/technical expert in molecular epidemiology.

* Investigate and perform critical analysis of current literature to conduct research projects in conjunction with the Program director and investigators.

Experiments, Investigation, Evaluations

* Develop and implement research plans with Program director and investigators.

* Conduct complex research in molecular epidemiology.

* Develop and troubleshoot Program protocols.

* Evaluate Program operations in meeting stated objectives.

Collect, Analyze and Summarize Data; Prepare Reports; Contribute to Manuscripts, Publications

* Contribute at a high level to Program research projects as evidenced by documented recognition in publications as an author or technical assistance.

* Perform complex statistical analysis of data using advanced statistical methods and tools.

* Perform qualitative data analysis and summarize results.

* Present at local and national meetings.

* Publish results in journals.

Administrative and Project Management

* Oversee several Program administrative functions, including but not limited to writing and amending protocols, making decisions regarding the acquisition of software and supplies, being responsible for the safety programs, and managing staff.

* Communicate directly with any external stakeholders (funders, partners, etc.) as to progress, reporting requirements, and timetables.

* Determine communication strategy to promote Program projects

Facilities and Equipment Management

* Determine needs of the Program laboratory and facilities.

* Determine software needs for projects. Facilitate and evaluate quality improvement efforts.

Supervision/Staffing

* Develop training procedures for Program techniques and protocols.

* Develop evaluation tools for measuring the outcomes of training, staff development, and staff performance.

* Assure Program staff compliance with UI policies and procedures.
