This role is dedicated to ensure that accounting functions are completed in a timely manner and according to established policies. Most of the time spent in this position will be in Accounts Receivable - Processing payments of guest group hotel bills after verifying that all documents are accurate as to items, price, extensions and proper receiving and approval by the department heads. Other functions will include daily reconciliations, and guest billing inquiries. This is an entry level position.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Prepare daily accounts receivable work. Process daily front desk interface postings. Post all restaurant/bar charges.
  • Answer correspondence relative to accounts receivable. Prepare refunds and rebate adjustments. Prepare journal entries for adjustments. Prepare special billings.
  • Apply payments/advance deposits from guest to their accounts.
  • Balance accounts monthly. Review all accounts to make sure payments and/or deposits are applied. Make sure all back-up are included in the statements before mailing them.
  • Make sure all accounts receivable files are kept in storage in compliance with the hotels established retention period.
  • Make sure all necessary copies of documents/back-up such as Banquet checks are complete and properly filed with the Statements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities asked by the Comptroller based upon department needs.


Physical Demands:



  • You will be sitting in front of a computer for up to long periods of time in a working day.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 10 lbs
  • Stand, walk and work at times in confined spaces throughout the shift in full sight of guests


Qualifications:

Education:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Any relevant certifications or accreditations


Experience:



  • Competent and confident working within Microsoft Excel- Intermediate or better
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred but, not required
  • Working within MS Outlook and MS Teams are required
