Responsibilities & Expectations:

As a Project Manager in Field Services at Integrated Power Services, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of field service projects, including repairs, installations, and maintenance for power management. You will collaborate with district teams, sales, and operations to ensure projects meet customer requirements, budgets, and timelines, while driving customer satisfaction and process improvements. Your role is essential in minimizing downtime for critical infrastructure in industries such as power generation, utilities, petrochemicals, and more, maintaining IPS's reputation for reliability and excellence.

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including scopes, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments for field services, ensuring alignment with customer contracts and business initiatives.
  • Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution, managing inquiries, providing updates, mediating issues, and driving high NPS through responsive communication and collaboration.
  • Team Leadership: Lead matrix teams across HSE, engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, finance, and services, providing clear direction and fostering accountability for project success.
  • Financial Management: Own project financials, including revenue, costs, cash flow, monthly EAC forecasts, billing, receivables, and margin enhancement, while managing commercial risks like claims and contract changes.
  • Scheduling and Monitoring: Monitor project schedules, track progress in systems, coordinate repairs, and communicate timelines to customers, ensuring efficient execution and issue resolution.
  • Vendor and Procurement Support: Coordinate procurement through dealer or OEM channels, manage vendor returns, warranty requests, and PO approvals to support field operations.
  • Risk and Compliance: Support risk processes, ensure contract compliance, manage scope creep, and adhere to safety standards like OSHA, while implementing lessons learned and process improvements.
  • Reporting and Closeout: Prepare progress reports, summarize operational findings in initial and final reports, handle project closeout, and assist with month-end closing for sales and operations.
  • Travel and Field Oversight: Travel up to 50% to oversee on-site activities, support teams in diverse locations, and ensure quality in equipment like switchgear, transformers, motors, and generators.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales, districts, and internal teams to align on customer requirements, VCP, quality, and initiatives like continuous improvement (Lean, 5S).
  • Procurement and Logistics: Support job-related procurement, logistics for activities, and management of customer returns or credit memo requests.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects >$100K, preferably in field services, power management, or electro-mechanical industries.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing matrix teams and driving performance.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for customer interactions and rigorous documentation.
  • Critical attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to anticipate events and develop adaptive strategies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (including advanced Excel), Microsoft Projects or similar scheduling tools, and CRM/ERP systems like NetSuite.
  • Technical knowledge of power distribution equipment, including switchgear, relays, breakers, transformers, motors, generators, and variable speed drives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, with flexible schedule and occasional weekends; must have or obtain a valid passport and driver's license.
  • Experience with contract management, customer service, and continuous improvement cultures (Lean, 5S, Safety).
