HJF is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be responsible for financial analysis, reporting on individual research projects, development of analysis and reports, and projection of future award performance. Participates in monthly meetings with customers and reviews financial award portfolio on a consistent basis as required.

This position will be in support of HJF's Billing/Finance Department.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.



  1. Direct and Review Financial Operations in the areas of:

    1. Sponsor invoicing
    2. Review and approve workflow in Oracle Fusion Cloud
    3. Prepare journal entries
    4. Process pre-approved expenditure batches
    5. Collection of Accounts Receivable
    6. Financial status reporting
    7. Quarterly cash reporting
    8. Monthly indirect cost allocation
    9. Grant and contract closeout

  2. Prepare analyses and schedules to facilitate the above operations.
  3. Prepare Federal Cash Transactions Reports for USUHS and USAMRAA Cooperative Agreements.
  4. Prepare annual analyses and schedules for year-end financial audit.
  5. Work with the USUHS Grants office and military vendor pay stations to improve and strengthen our billing procedures and payment process.
  6. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is required.
  • 6-8 years of relevant work related experience.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud Financial Accounting Systems is a plus.
  • Grants and contracts billing experience.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, focus on detail, and manage deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to gather and analyze cost data and evaluate results.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals.
  • Experience working with applicable OMB circulars and regulations related to federally funded research.
  • Strong ability with database and spreadsheet software (including Excel).


Work Environment



  • This position will take place primarily in an office environment.
  • This position is hybrid with 50% telework capability.


Compensation



  • The annual salary range for this position is $73,800-$105,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
