 The Histology Supervisor functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for leading the histology department. With direct oversight of staff who perform histology specimen preparation, and testing specific to the pathology/histology department. Qualifications
 
 
 Job Requirements:  
 Baccalaureate Degree in Histotechnology, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a chemical, physical or biological science.BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.  OR 
 Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or chemical, physical or biological science with >2 years of experience in a high complexity clinical laboratory.ASCP (HT) or equivalent
 
   Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment
    
     If certification does lapse, job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) until certification is reinstatedExperience as a Histology TechnologistCurrent knowledge of pathology laboratory techniques and principles1+ years' experience with high complexity testing in PathologyBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements 
 Certification as a HistotechnologistPrevious experience in a leadership role, billing compliance, performance improvement and regulatory standards |
