Job Description

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Smith College. We are anticipating openings for Teaching Focused Faculty in several of our departments in the coming year. These are limited term, non-benefited teaching positions for a total of one or two courses in the 2026-27 academic year. A PhD, ABD, or an equivalent combination of education and teaching experience is expected of all Teaching Focused Faculty.

Possible openings in the following departments:

  • Africana Studies

  • Art

  • Music

  • Engineering

  • Middle East Studies

  • Religion

  • Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality

  • Mathematics

  • Chemistry

  • Psychology

  • English Language and Literature

Compensation for limited-term teaching focus faculty is based on teaching experience and ranges between $8,250-$8500 for a 4 credit course.
