Cape Fox Lodge is seeking an enthusiastic Sales Manager to join our team. The Sales Manager is responsible for representing Cape Fox Lodge to new customer relationships and maintaining existing relationships with assigned accounts while consistently striving to maximize revenue in rooms, public space, F&B, and all additional products and services the Lodge has to offer. The Sales Manager is an integral member of the team that actively solicits and handles inquiries of groups that exceed 10 guestrooms per night. The Sales Manager will participate in the continuing effort to deliver distinctively different guest experiences and nurture lasting relationships with our customers with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable the achievement of optimal sales objectives.

With an innovative mind set, the Sales Manager will identify and enthusiastically create new contacts and develop sales leads through phone solicitation/prospecting, sales calls, trade shows, etc. The Sales Manager will respond to sales inquiries and contact potential clients to build and nurture lasting business relationships. The Sales Manager must understand the overall market, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc. and strategically sell against our competition. The Sales Manager must take the initiative to go beyond the ordinary to differentiate Cape Fox Lodge from the competition and create loyalty. The Sales Manager must understand fully the Lodge amenities, venues, and options and provide recommendations to create authentic and distinctively different experiences for our groups. The Sales Manager must anticipate our guests' needs and respond promptly. The Sales Manager will create, execute, and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence). The Sales Manager will produce quotes and written confirmation to all clients. The Sales Manager must maintain timely and accurate recording of activity to include appointments, calls made, and business leads.

coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of PMS, Delphi, and appropriate PC applications will keep you organized and ensure you have more time to sell! A qualified applicant is a proven closer and thrives on the challenge of finding new business but understands the operation and the administrative requirements and ensures he/she is fulfilling those needs as an integral part of the team.

Duties and responsibilities include:



  • Respond courteously and efficiently to queries and problems from guests and all staff.
  • Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with people requiring large and complex group accommodations (generally over 50 guest rooms) with or without meeting space and/or on-site (hotel) catering.
  • Represent hotel in significant interactions dealing with customers related to sales and operational questions, concerns, and issues.
  • Negotiate contracts with customers and commission agreements with third party agencies.
  • Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective customers primarily of the hotel guest rooms but also meeting space and/or banquet date, space and rate availability.
  • Develop and quote prices.
  • Engage in outside sales activities to discuss business opportunities and entertain customers in local and assigned markets and direct site visits
  • Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other scheduled meetings to support business operations, e.g., tentative review, lost business review, group-pick up, etc.
  • Conduct site inspections with potential customers, visit guest rooms, meeting space and banquet facilities, as well as other hotel facilities
