Position Summary |
This is a research ultrasound position focused on performing and annotating prenatal ultrasounds for a study within the Division of Global Women's Health, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This role involves participating in various projects that will begin and evolve over time. Key responsibilities include managing sonographer schedules, coordinating annotation tasks, assisting the supervisor with overall scheduling and task delegation, operating ultrasound machines and other
FDA-approved devices to capture prenatal images, as well as annotating these images/videos using approved software. Additionally, the research sonographer will ensure that research staff adhere to safety standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Must be able to multitask and learn new procedures according to the protocol. As our research is typically conducted within the clinical environment, candidates should demonstrate a desire to work within the research environment, as well as a clinical environment. They should also feel comfortable working with pregnant individuals, including those with pregnancy complications. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Associate's degree in medical sonography, cardio/vascular sonography, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
This position requires certification in Obstetric /Gynecology Ultrasound.
Must have clinical research experience or experience caring for obstetric patients. As our research is typically conducted within the clinical environment, candidates should demonstrate a desire to work within the research environment, as well as a clinical environment. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, investigators, staff, and the general public. Position requires the ability to work independently and be self-directed, while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Due to the nature of research imaging, the ability to multitask is essential. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Experience in imaging research.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Fluency in Spanish/English.

Able to perform ultrasound for 8 hours per day, with or without reasonable accommodation. |
