Stroke Program Educator

The Stroke Educator is a Registered Nurse with specialized expertise in stroke care, clinical education, evidence-based practice, and research. This role collaborates across disciplines to support the professional development of healthcare providers involved in stroke care. The Stroke Educator applies clinical knowledge, adult learning principles, and educational best practices to develop and deliver effective learning experiences.

The Stroke Educator supports both direct and indirect patient care by coordinating educational initiatives in partnership with Nursing Education, Nursing Professional Practice, the College of Medicine, the College of Nursing, the Health Sciences Library, and external organizations. Serving as a clinical resource and role model, the Stroke Educator promotes excellence in stroke care throughout the unit, department, institution, and broader community.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing with a masters degree in nursing or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
  • Clinical experience in stroke care (2-4 years)
  • Clinical instruction experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, effective communication, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills.
  • Interested in learning and teaching new skills.
  • Experience with, commitment to, and competence in dealing with adult stroke populations.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
