We are seeking a Material Planner to join our Supply Chain Team in Batesville, IN. Reporting to the Director of Inventory and Material Management, you will work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance to plan and purchase raw materials like fiber, felt, and glass that keep production moving. In this role, you'll have a direct impact by ensuring materials are available, collaborating in daily production meetings, strengthening supplier performance, and driving improvements in inventory, reporting, and cost-saving initiatives. This is a full-time, onsite position that requires approximately 20% domestic travel. This will be an hourly position, and compensation will be based on experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Create purchase orders, maintain stocking levels, and balance supply chain risks to protect production schedules.
- Participate in daily S&OP meetings, provide updates on inventory status, and redeploy assets when needed to meet demand.
- Monitor supplier performance and partner with Procurement to improve delivery, quality, and compliance.
- Track pricing, update purchase orders, and ensure alignment with negotiated contracts.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support digitization efforts, including dashboards and reporting tools like Power BI.
- Contribute to quarterly physical inventories and assist Finance with accurate reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or Engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in procurement, planning, or inventory management.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, etc.).
- Ability to travel domestically about 20% of the time.
- Preferred: Supply Chain certifications (CSCP, CPIM, CPSM), Lean/Six Sigma experience, Power BI proficiency, advanced Excel, and background in infrastructure, construction, or manufacturing.
