TITLE: Work Program/Student


POSITION OBJECTIVE: To gain exposure to US manufacturing processes as a Process Engineer through a one-year internship program. Gain valuable industry experience through internship position supporting process engineer activities.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must be a current college student enrolled in the Chemical Engineering field
  • Good computing skills
  • Fluent in English communication (both oral and written) required
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good analytical skills preferred


  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Caution operators regarding safety concerns in their respective work areas
  • Issue / update extrusion SOCs (including temporary SOCs)
  • Follow up of process / quality related issues; assist in resolution through communication with downstream processes
  • Communicate with operators regarding problems they may be experiencing and assist in resolution to increase productivity
  • Author / update troubleshooting manuals as necessary
  • Coordination with operations managers to eliminate potential downstream problems
  • Writing abnormal reports when necessary
  • Monitor secondary properties; adjusting line parameters / SOCs as needed
  • Other duties / responsibilities deemed necessary by Plant Office Manager
  • Comply with company recycling policy
  • Comply with all Plant Safety and Product Safety requirements
  • Participate in all plant training programs (ISO, Operations, Product Safety, Safety, etc.)
