Donor Experience Coordinator Founded by Detroit philanthropists George and Ellen Booth in 1904, Cranbrook Educational Community is one of the world's leading centers of education, science, and art. Reporting to the Donor Experience Manager, the Donor Experience Coordinator works closely with the Cranbrook Educational Community (CEC) central offices of Donor Experience and Advancement Services to support Cranbrook's fundraising efforts. Candidate must be a strong multi-tasker, have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and research skills, work well under limited supervision, and be highly organized. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Stewardship Reporting/Data Management
- Collect, organize, edit, and confirm the accuracy of data used for external stewardship reports.
- Input and track engagement plan data, such as deliverables.
- Assist with the preparation and mailing of endowment and impact reports.
- Use data from the Raisers Edge database to create merged letters, documents, and reports.
- Prepare pledge forms, pledge reminders, and donor invoices.
- Create and maintain endowment files.
- Prepare creative and systematic reports/communications as needed.
Engagement
- Assist Principal, Major, and Planned Giving Officers with donor and prospect engagement, including campus and off-site visits, functions, and activities.
- Assist with and work with leadership and critical stakeholders to roll out new donor experience services and programs.
- Assist with the management of recognition societies.
- Assist the Prospect Researcher in compiling donor profiles for events and other activities.
- Assist with the creation of proposals, presentations, and materials.
Project Management/Additional Support
- Implement special projects in support of all areas of the Donor Experience including gift management, recognition and acknowledgements.
- Provide assistance within the Advancement Team where needed and perform other duties as assigned, including occasional work at events or programs on weekends or evenings.
- Respond to questions and provide assistance on donor relations matters for donors, Cranbrook colleagues, and donor relations colleagues from other institutions.
Other
- Attend all Raisers Edge donor software training and maintenance meetings as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all database records, donor information, and materials reviewed.
- Handle routine office functions such as copying, filing, greeting, or assisting visitors, arranging meetings and travel, preparing expense reports, and keeping office or personal calendars as requested.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical certification in Microsoft Excel and Power Point preferred.
- Minimum of five years of administration background, which demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in nonprofit development with basic knowledge of fundraising concepts preferred.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with diverse user groups. Discretion is essential for handling highly confidential and potentially sensitive information.
- High proficiency in Word, Excel and database management required to create mail merges, create complex spreadsheets and graphs, and maintain and run development reports required.
- Experience and fluency with CRM and database management, preferably with Blackbaud: Raiser's Edge and RE NXT.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks with deadlines with proven proficiency at effective prioritization and multitasking.
- Creativity as well as analytical ability to maximize program outcomes and track for strategic and process improvements
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to proofread and edit content
- Requires a valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
