What you will do

Johnson Controls' Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability team leads key initiatives that influence our suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders. The team addresses a broad range of issues, including supplier transparency and regulatory compliance. We are seeking a Program Manager to support strategic projects that directly impact sales enablement, regulatory compliance, and supplier development. This role will collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, including Sales, Procurement, Supplier Development, Information Technology (IT), Legal, Compliance, Enterprise Sustainability, suppliers, and customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong program and project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to influence across functions without direct authority.

How you will do it

  • Program Manage the supplier transparency initiative known as EcoVadis; track program key performance indicators & facilitate monthly operations review meetings.
  • Manage EcoVadis on-boarding activities; participate in the identification of suppliers to include in program and develop action plans for on-boarding them. When required, ensure adherence to established procedures for leadership escalation meetings.
  • Manage EcoVadis corrective action activities; identify & prioritize supplier risk and develop action plans to review, confirm and mitigate known risk.
  • Manage the economic inclusion program for the direct material & technology suppliers; identify spend opportunities & engage in supplier recruitment & advocacy. Work with Procurement to ensure that suppliers are included in key projects while ensuring a fair and competitive process for business awards.
  • Assemble reports as required to support the business; support internal & external customer requests to generate evidence of compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Participate in and present to the Steering Committee meetings to learn about the global regulations impacting the business and help advise the business to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with non-governmental groups at a local and national level to identify and develop suppliers; the team may hold board & committee positions and attend conferences.
  • Prepare and lead presentations to internal and external stakeholders; verbal and written presentation skills will be applied to help achieve business objectives such as sales attainment or regulatory compliance, for example.
  • Respond to customer surveys and help provide organization with information and materials required to comply with regulations or assist in responding to non-governmental ratings agencies.
  • Participate and contribute to strategic planning to help identify issues, risks and opportunities impacting the business; help with annual goal setting and various thought leadership activities.

Required, Capabilities, Experience and Degree Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferable with business focus)
  • Previous Program or Project Management experience
  • Able to travel globally (approximately 25% Travel)
  • Strong communication skills - written and oral
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Previous experience in supplier diversity, procurement and category management
  • PMP Certification is optional
