What to Expect
The Tool & Die Supervisor will oversee a team of tooling specialist managing all technical aspects of tooling for automotive stamping, plastic injection, or high-pressure die casting. The role requires expertise in die and mold maintenance, launch support for new tooling, and sustaining production. Candidates must demonstrate proficency in precison die/mold fitting, failure mode analysis, root cause and corrective action, preventative maintenance system design, and tooling assest and spare component control.

What You'll Do
  • Guarantee security in its control area, through the identification, evaluation, and elimination of risks in the processes, facilities, activities and equipment in the area
  • Coordinate and manage Tools Maintenance and resources, both human and equipment, to ensure that general objectives are met in the production area
  • Establish short- and medium-term strategies that ensure compliance of the Mold Corrective and Preventive maintenance schedules and establish and communicate objectives and responsibilities for the personnel under your charge
  • Ensure that the people under your charge have the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary to perform their duties within the Tooling area. Identify elements with high potential and seek their development within the organization
  • Active participation with suppliers, Engineers and and departments involved in the launch of new products/processes
  • Responsible to control the training/skills for the team on charge
  • Responsible to coordinate with the Quality Engineer, Supervisor, Tooling and Process Engineers any mold changes to improve quality

What You'll Bring
  • 5 years in the Tooling Industry with Knowledge on Mold Maintenance, Machining equipment like lathes, grinding, welding and cutting
  • Experience on plastic process (disable)
  • Conflict management / Skills of communication
  • Crane handle experience min 10-ton Capacity minimum
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Understand Electrical and Hydraulic diagrams for molds
  • Proficiency in using Measurement tools like digital OD micrometer, absolute digital calipers, depth base attachment for calipers, dial test indicator, magnetic base with adjustable arm, 1-2-3 block, and 6" steel rule, V-block and any other measurement equipment or fixture
