Associate Director for Environmental Services to join our team within the
Facilities Division.
In this vital leadership role, you will
oversee the planning, implementation, and management of comprehensive environmental services across designated campus zones. You'll ensure that our interior and exterior spaces are clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, while driving operational efficiency, supporting strategic goals, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. This position plays a key role in financial oversight, policy development, staff training, and day-to-day personnel management, all in service of delivering a top-tier environment for students, faculty, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee cleaning, disinfecting, and refreshing of building spaces, including athletic facilities, ensuring service delivery meets institutional and customer expectations- Ensure high aesthetic and operational quality of facilities, addressing maintenance needs and customer concerns within assigned zones
- Support the Director in developing and implementing environmental service strategies, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across campus
- Establish training programs, emergency response protocols, inclement weather policies, and work standards to enhance service reliability
- Approve materials, expenditures, and budget proposals, monitor program completion, and provide financial oversight
- Proactively anticipate customer needs, adjust service processes for improved satisfaction, and enhance overall business operations
- Maintain an effective staff training program, covering emergency procedures, inclement weather duties, and operational best practices
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, performance management, mediation, and disciplinary actions to support workforce effectiveness
- Serve as a committee representative, ensuring environmental service considerations are integrated into university-wide decisions

Other Responsibilities |
- Perform on-call administrator duties
- Attend and conduct meetings and participate in conferences
- Designated essential personnel, required to report to work during adverse weather conditions (even if the University is on an alternate schedule)
- May assist with snow and ice removal under the direction of a Director

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- High School Diploma or equivalency and four years of experience in the area of assignment, of which two years are supervisory; OR and equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Required Qualifications |
- Thorough understanding of environmental services cleaning, covering materials, equipment, and the maintenance of both interior and exterior building areas
- Comprehensive knowledge of developing presentations, preparing financial data and budgets
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing for effectively conveying information at all levels
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in management, accounting, or a similar area of study or related field, with 6-8 years of environmental services experience and 5 years of managerial experience
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop mid-to-large-scale teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Management experience, preferably in a commercial or contracting custodial environment
- Completion of Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) Certification
