Job Description

The Spectrum Management Technician plays a critical role in enabling successful testing and evaluation at Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) by expertly analyzing the electromagnetic spectrum. This position encompasses the full lifecycle of frequency management, from submitting and diligently tracking requests and assignments through Spectrum XXI (using the Standard Frequency Action Format) to supporting the unique demands of experimental and developmental testing. The Technician will proactively coordinate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless spectrum access for YPG activities. Key responsibilities include in-depth research utilizing the GEMSIS repository, evaluating system performance characteristics, conducting field surveys to monitor spectrum usage and identify interference, and actively mitigating conflicts through the Integrated Frequency Deconfliction System (IFDS). This role also demands responsive support for RFI investigations, employing direction finding techniques and coordinating with multiple agencies. The Technician will efficiently process Telecommunications Resource Frequency Assignments (TRFAs) submitted to the Spectrum Management Office (SMO), providing timely updates and guidance to requesters. This position requires a strong understanding of spectrum management principles and the ability to operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. Performs other duties as assigned. This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications

Pay Rate:$42.00

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Associates degree or military training in related field with a minimum of six years' experience in Radio Frequency electronics, or military RF Technician or Spectrum Management experience or 12 years related experience.
*Completion of the Spectrum XXI DoD Training course and certification are required within 12 months of employment.

Job Skills Requirements:

*Be proficient in the use of spectrum analyzers, spectrograms, and digital signal processors.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical, as well as periodic retests.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Able to sit, bend, stoop, and walk over uneven terrain for extended periods.
*Capable of moving, pushing and lifting up to 75 lbs.

*Must be able to maintain own tools to the minimum requirement by the company.
*Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

*Completion of Joint Services RF certification.
*Familiar with Army Spectrum Management and DoD publications

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
