On site, manufacturers rely on our expertise in providing full management of these gases, advanced molecules and equipment and in helping to continuously improve production processes.

Electronic Specialty Gases (ESG) is a focused product line within the larger Air Liquide Electronics (ALE) organization that specializes in providing a diverse portfolio of highly purified specialty gases to our customers. The ESG product line is poised for strong growth over the coming years as leading semiconductor companies are making multi-billion dollar investments to expand manufacturing capacity in the United States and globally. The Morrisville PA plant is expanding its chemical process engineering and technical team to ensure it is well poised for these growth opportunities.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Senior Process Engineer will provide process engineering expertise and leadership for Air Liquide Electronics Specialty Gas (ESG ) operations. For your assigned production processes, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day plant technical support, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading processing engineering activities for capital projects. You will be part of a high performing team critical to the ongoing success and growth of the ESG business.

Provide Responsive Plant Process Support

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the production team and other groups to troubleshoot problems on high priority process issues

  • Proactively work and communicate with other groups within ESG Morrisville to address process issues quickly and efficiently, targeting the root cause

  • Participate in daily production and MRB meetings as needed to provide updates on process and quality issues and any planned activities impacting operations

  • Lead resolution and root cause analysis on process safety incidents

Drive Continuous Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement mentality within production team with focus on safety, productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery

  • Identify and drive process improvements to assigned production processes

  • Expand utilization of data systems and SPC programs for process troubleshooting and to drive process improvements

  • Initiate process reliability, safety, and economic improvements by revising process conditions and procedures

  • Lead supply chain process improvement projects. Examples include development of production process capacity models and improved Bill of Material accuracy.

Engaged Process Engineering Support for Capital Projects

  • Provide Process Engineering and technical leadership for capital projects

  • Actively engage with the engineering project manager to ensure capital projects are on time, on budget, and meet deliverables

  • Support development of P&IDs, specification documents, process design package, and control systems functional design for projects

  • Support new process or project startups (temporary shift work may be required)

  • Participate in Design Reviews, Process Hazard Analysis, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews and Ready To Operate Reviews

  • Ensure Management of Change reviews are completed when required and process documentation is accurate and up-to-date (PFDs, P&IDs, H&M balance, specification sheets, design documentation)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field with a strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals

  • 5+ years experience in process, production, and/or project engineering or equivalent experience

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent knowledge preferred

  • Lean Manufacturing experience

  • Working knowledge of PLC and DCS control systems

  • Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facility

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multitask

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must be a team player with strong leadership abilities

  • Self-starter with the ability to perform well under pressure and continuously changing priorities

  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

  • Ability to be on call for nights, weekends, and holidays to support assigned production lines and provide backup to other process engineers

  • Chemical plant operation experience strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of local codes and standards, as well as generally accepted Good engineering practice, for design, sizing, and operation of chemical production facilities preferred

  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP and experience with Process hazard analysis methodologies including HAZOP and LOPA preferred

The Salary rate range for this position in Pennsylvania is $125,000.00 to $130,000.00
