Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., has an immediate opening for a Permit Technician in the Torrance, CA area. If you are an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced, public-facing environment and takes pride in supporting municipal operations, we want to hear from you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support at the counter and over the phone.
  • Review permit applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Calculate and collect permit fees.
  • Process and issue building permits.
  • Ensure all conditions of approvals are met prior to issuance.
  • Assist the public with completing permit applications.
  • Verify all necessary project approvals are obtained.
  • Notify applicants when construction documents and/or permits are ready.
  • Coordinate and route documents for plan review and approval.
  • Help resolve resident inquiries and complaints.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • ICC Certification and municipal experience (ICC Certification Counter Technician) preferred.
  • 3+ years as a Permit Technician required.
  • Knowledge of permitting software is a plus.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 10lbs regularly and up to 25lbs occasionally.
