The Administrative Specialist provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Hospital Epidemiology / Infection Prevention & Control (HE/IPC) department. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of departmental activities, including coordination of communications, data management, scheduling, and regulatory documentation. The specialist works closely with infection preventionists, Hospital Epidemiologists, clinical staff, and leadership to support initiatives aimed at reducing healthcare-associated infections and promoting patient safety.
Key responsibilities include managing departmental calendars, preparing reports and presentations, maintaining confidential records, assisting with compliance and accreditation efforts, and facilitating communication across hospital units. The Administrative Specialist also supports the Infection Control Subcommittee, and the department's response to emerging infectious threats and contributes to quality improvement and surveillance activities. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Provides coordination and support for Programs. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent PHYSICAL DEMANDS Provides coordination and support for Programs. This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
