Job Summary:
TS Trucking is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Oiler-Greaser. This position is responsible for the daily lubrication, fueling, and inspection of Dump Trucks to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Duties may also include assisting with minor mechanical repairs and basic labor tasks as assigned. The Oiler-Greaser will work under the direction of the general manager and must be able to complete routine responsibilities with minimal supervision, while ensuring all equipment is maintained to company and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine lube and maintenance services on dump trucks, including oil and filter changes.
- Conduct brake inspections; replace brake shoes, pads, wheel seals and related components as needed.
- Diagnose and make quick repairs on lights, hoses, and other basic systems.
- Maintain shop and work areas with proper cleanup and organization.
- Follow all company policies, DOT/MSHA safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Work Monday-Friday night shift (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM).
- Candidates must also be available for irregular hours and overtime shifts as needed.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the general manager.
- Physical stamina is essential, as the role involves sitting, walking, climbing, and bending for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a mechanic, technician, or lube tech in a shop or fleet maintenance environment.
- Working knowledge of safety standards within the trucking and maintenance industry.
- Ability to diagnose and perform basic mechanical and preventive repairs.
- Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and accountability.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Climbing: Must have the physical capability to safely climb into and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.
- Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.
- Balance: Including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.
- Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.
- Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions. Exposure to loud noise, dust, vibrations, and heavy machinery in operation is frequent.
- Awkward positions: Getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground.
- Heavy lifting: Awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulders, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Conditions: Work is performed in a environment with exposure to uneven ground, dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
Candidates should be prepared to work in occasional exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, dust, and mud. They must also be available for irregular hours and overtime shifts as needed. Physical stamina is essential, as the role involves sitting, walking, climbing, and bending for extended periods.
