UAV Mechatronics / Robotics Engineer

Description:

Come and help us design, build, support, and fly small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS). The ideal candidate will be interested in working with all aspects of sUAS software, mechanical, and electrical development: from structural design and analysis, CAD, test flights, configuring sensors and other hardware/payloads, and troubleshooting hardware and software.? The job will begin as remote position and then transition to hybrid structure, working at least part time in a to-be-determined office in Northern Denver (Westminster,Thornton, Broomfield, etc.) area.

Job Role(s):

• 
  

  Work CAD design mockups for various aspects of sUAS: frames, connectors and mounting, cabling, etc.

  
  

• 
  

  Integrate the hardware and software of sUAS payloads with various UAVs

  
  

• 
  

  Validate, test, and document new or existing designs and builds.

  
  

• 
  

  Support flight testing and demonstrations

  
  

Required Experience:

• 
  

  B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related (Mechatronics, Aerospace, etc.)

  
  

• 
  

  2 years relevant experience

  
  

• 
  

  Experience with 3D CAD and analysis tools (heat, structural, etc.).

  
  

• 
  

  Experience conducting flight test with at least one type of sUAS.

  
  

• 
  

  Experience programming with Python, C++, and using AI/ML tools/libraries

  
  

• 
  

  Experience or understanding of PX4 or Ardupilot autopilots and peripheral systems

  
  

Desired Experience:

• 
  

  Experience with ROS, ROS2 or other middleware approaches

  
  

• 
  

  Knowledge of networking and distributed systems.

  
  

• 
  

  Experience designing, building, and testing all types of sUAS systems.

  
  

• 
  

  Experience with GNSS receivers and other navigation systems/sensors preferred.

  Experience with NDAA requirements and hardware
