Overview Distribution Engineering is seeking a highly motivated employee to join its SCADA team. Use of SCADA technology is quickly expanding which leads to many opportunities for the employee to make a valuable contribution to the efficient operation of the Distribution System. The successful candidate must be energetic and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to our Code of Conduct and The Way We Work. The candidate will be responsible for Distribution SCADA System development with the goal to continuously improve the reliability, safety, and flexibility of the Distribution System. This will include, installing new RTU devices, and troubleshooting these RTUs. In addition, the candidate will be working on developing new switches, RTUs, and specifications, that will be deployed throughout the Distribution System. Knowledge of how various devices communicate remotely over DNP3 protocol is required. The Engineer will lead technical evaluations and review equipment designs and specifications. The candidate will need to work with various work groups, and have an ability to work on multiple projects. Will review data being collected to identify anomalies and take corrective action when needed. The Engineer will develop test plans for engineering and field crews, and perform engineering analysis and testing on new designs, new or failed equipment, vendor solutions, and emergent technologies. Will be responsible to provide engineering support during emergencies and has the capability to assume full responsibility and leadership role when responding to emergency field problems in his or her field of expertise.

- Will provide technical guidance to Electric Operations personnel regarding operational and maintenance problems involving SCADA equipment.
- Perform engineering analysis and lab testing on new designs, new or failed equipment, vendor solutions, and emergent technologies.
- Comfortable going to field locations to support analysis or testing.
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment and working in teams performing lab testing.
- Provide ad-hoc data analytics within short timeframes for event analysis and executive summaries.
- Develop test plans for engineering and field crews.
- Work with field crews to troubleshoot SCADA equipment.
- Provide recommendations and strategies for future event prevention and mitigation.
- Respond to emergency calls by operating departments and makes decisions within his/her area of responsibility.
- Develop and test the communication for new SCADA equipment being deployed to support the operation of the electric power distribution systems.
- Work with Purchasing and Cost Management to create and monitor purchase orders.
- Perform technical evaluations associated with SCADA systems.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering and minimum of 4 years of engineering work experience is required or
- Master's Degree Engineering and minimum of 3 years of engineering work experience is required
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering
Relevant Work Experience
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment and working with Engineers performing lab testing Required
- Experience implementing or modifying SCADA and Control Systems. Required
- Understanding of controls and communications for automation Required
- Familiarity of DNP3 communication protocol Required
- Familiarity with low voltage distribution equipment Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
- Other: Must be able and willing to travel service territory, as needed.
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
