About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Coder II to support automation initiatives within our business office. This is a contract position with an initial term of 6-9 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.
As a Coder II, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding of medical records to support optimal reimbursement, regulatory reporting, and internal analytics. You will be responsible for coding complex cases (excluding outpatient ancillary/series) using ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS standards. **CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN WI OR IA IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED** Key Responsibilities * Assign accurate codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures using ICD-10, CPT-4, and HCPCS. * Code complex cases (excluding outpatient ancillary/series). * Apply MS-DRG and APC reimbursement methodologies. * Ensure compliance with AHIMA's Standards of Ethical Coding and official coding guidelines. * Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks (95% accuracy). * Collaborate with internal teams to support automation and process improvement. Qualifications * Active certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCP, CEDC, CIC, and/or CBCS. * Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room Medical coding * Minimum 3 years of injection and infusion medical coding * Proven ability to code complex cases. * Experience with EPIC and 3M Why Join Us?
