As a Nurse Aide, you will provide skilled care and personal care to patients at SCI Rockview. You will collect specimens for lab work, assist with daily living activities, and ensure hygiene and basic physical needs are met for our inmates. You will also complete documentation and respond to emergency situations as they arise. Excellent care skills are required to identify and report changes in inmate conditions to appropriate supervisors. In addition, you will participate in treatment team meetings and emergency response drills, as well as maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
• Work hours will be determined, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,294.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
