DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Equipment Operator A, you will be responsible for operating various types of equipment used for transportation, construction, and maintenance work. Your duties will include operating cars and wheelchair vans, as well as transporting items such as food, medicine, equipment, and laundry. You will also be responsible for performing safety checks on equipment, operating snow plows and salt spreaders, and using groundskeeping equipment. In addition, you will be required to perform manual labor, use hand tools, and perform minor repairs. It will be important that you demonstrate proper operation of equipment and attend any necessary training to ensure safe and efficient use of the equipment.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are as follows: 7 days working 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM with 2 weekend days off, then 3 days working 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with 2 weekdays off.
- Overtime as operationally necessary and subject to emergency call-in
- Travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
