Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate pipe fusing crew members, assign tasks and ensuring productivity.
  • Provide guidance and ensure the correct use of pipe fusing equipment and techniques, overseeing operations like fusing, fitting, and joining.
  • Enforce safety regulations, maintain a safe work environment, and inspect work for quality and compliance with project plans, codes, and industry standards.
  • Manage project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain records of project progress, materials used, and workforce hours.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and report project status.
  • Analyze blueprints and technical documents to determine appropriate pipe types, sizes, and equipment needed for a project.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience within the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of pipe fusing techniques, piping systems, relevant codes, and standards (e.g., HDPE fusion).
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and coach a team.
  • Skills to troubleshoot issues, resolve conflicts, and make independent decisions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is crucial to prevent costly errors in fusion and system failures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating teams and interacting with management.
  • Proven experience in pipe fusing, installation, and supervision within industries such as oil and gas, mining, or manufacturing.
  • May require specific certifications in pipe fusing or related welding techniques
  • Previous crew leadership experience is required.
  • Knowledge of road construction methods, road construction materials and industry requirements.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment.
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.).
