OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a Structural BIM Designer to join our Energy, Manufacturing, and Bioprocessing Business Unit. This position is full-time and located in our Greenwood Village CO; Tulsa OK; or Richmond VA offices. A hybrid schedule will be supported.

The hourly pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00. The pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Structural Designer supports the design and retrofit of industrial facilities in oil, gas, power, manufacturing, and bioprocessing facilities. The Senior Structural Designer will be expected to develop "Scan to BIM" workflows and generate AutoCAD drawings for construction. This individual will be responsible for translating point-cloud scan data into detailed 3D/2D models under the direction of professional engineers and developing construction documents. The candidate should possess the social skills to meet with clients, convey design concepts, work to meet deliverable deadlines, and assist with overall design concepts. The candidate should have a strong foundation in structural detailing and the ab Manage point-cloud Scan to BIM conversion and model development for structural projects.

  • Produce 3D models in AutoCAD, Revit, and Advance Steel, and develop 2D layouts, plans, sections, and details for steel and concrete structures.
  • Coordinate with engineers to ensure accurate representation of design intent and constructability.
  • Review and incorporate redlines, notes, and markups into production drawings.
  • Develop and maintain sheet layouts, steel/concrete detailing, and drawing standards.
  • Perform quality checks on deliverables and support shop drawing reviews.
  • Interface with project teams using Navisworks for model review and clash detection.
  • Balance multiple deadlines and work efficiently to meet schedule demands.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of structural steel and concrete detailing, including commonly used practices and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and communicate effectively with engineers.
  • Proven track record of working both independently and collaboratively on project deliverables.
  • Ability to show recent portfolio-based proof of technical proficiency in producing deliverables focused in Revit/Advance Steel, Navisworks and point cloud environments to generate clean models and construction drawings.
  • 3-dimensional (3D) modeling using AutoCAD.
  • 2-dimensional (2D) building layouts and detailing using AutoCAD.
  • Practical experience using Revu, Teams, Microsoft Word and Excel software.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
