Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic intern to join our Howmet Engines Finance team for the Summer of 2026! Internship will be located at our downtown Pittsburgh, PA location.

Why join us? Your education is just beginning! Our interns learn our business processes, develop finance and accounting skills, and are given ample mentoring and instruction. Their skills are sharpened as full members of a project team, working alongside leaders in partnership with business unit and corporate clients. Interns also are exposed to a variety of assignments which encourage them to make valuable contributions to the company. Internships typically run from May/June through August.

We are looking for an intern with the following skills and abilities:



  • Interest in pursuing a career in Finance
  • Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and an aptitude for continuous learning
  • A record of team, project and/or people leadership in a work setting or extracurricular activities
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Willingness to take initiative to understand the business
  • An aptitude for problem solving; strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Previous successful experience as an active member of a team
  • A commitment to excellence and to personal and professional growth


Key activities will include:



  • Value-add assignments for the Howmet Engines Business Unit, focused primarily on financial planning and analysis and the financial control environment. Assigned projects will give a realistic view into the requirements of a finance professional at a global, publicly traded manufacturing company.
  • Professional development opportunities, including in-person and virtual training
  • Information sessions and networking with Business Unit and Corporate leadership and teams
  • Potential opportunity to visit other locations


While an internship with Howmet provides you with invaluable experience that you could utilize in any role, our goal is to evaluate interns for potential entry-level openings. With locations across the US, there are opportunities to work throughout the country.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:



  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Business or Finance with an expected graduation date of Winter 2025, 2026, or Spring 2027.
  • Involved with at least 1 extracurricular activity
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel
  • Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in both written and oral form
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills gained through prior internship or educational experiences

The Howmet engines business produces world-class aerospace engine components, including investment castings, fasteners, rings and forgings. Our vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts enable the next generation of quieter, cleaner and more fuel-efficient aerospace engines. Able to supply more than 90% of structural and rotating aerospace engine components.
