What will you be doing?

Are you ready to be the face of Smith+Nephew's cybersecurity and compliance strategy for our cutting-edge LEAF digital health technologies? As the Commercial Healthcare Enablement Specialist, you'll be the trusted technical advisor to enterprise healthcare customers, strategic partners, and internal stakeholders. You'll lead the charge in presenting our security posture, privacy safeguards, and regulatory alignment through engaging webinars, executive briefings, and customer workshops. Your ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear, compelling narratives will build trust and accelerate sales cycles.

You'll take ownership of our Customer Trust Portal, author white papers and compliance briefs, and collaborate across Sales, R&D, Operations, and Marketing to embed security messaging into our go-to-market strategies. Your expertise will guide customers through HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, and FDA cybersecurity requirements, and you'll support legal teams in BAA negotiations and breach response planning.

Internally, you'll serve as the bridge between customers and teams like Legal, Product Security, Privacy, Clinical, and R&D-ensuring alignment between customer expectations and our product roadmap. You'll mentor engineering teams, represent Smith+Nephew at industry events, and publish thought leadership on healthcare cybersecurity. If you're a detail-oriented communicator with deep InfoSec experience, a passion for healthcare innovation, and a knack for building trust, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What will you need to be successful?

To be successful in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree, with a master's in Cybersecurity, Healthcare IT, or Business preferred. You will need at least seven years of experience in information security, including five years in customer-facing roles within healthcare or SaaS environments. You will need to demonstrate extreme attention to detail and accuracy, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer relations, listening, and organizational abilities will be essential, as will your ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the company.

You will need a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, FDA cybersecurity, SOC2, ISO 27001, and NIST. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), SQL Server, and Windows Server platforms is expected, and you will need to be open to traveling up to 25% of the time. You will need to be self-motivated and organized, capable of driving initiatives with minimal oversight. Your ability to collaborate across teams and meet customer-driven deadlines will be key.

You will need to be an expert in technical writing and documentation, producing high-quality deliverables in fast-paced environments. A strong grasp of cybersecurity best practices and AI tools relevant to enterprise and healthcare settings is important. Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare IT, or information security will be highly valuable. Professional certifications like CISSP, HCISPP, or ITIL will be a strong advantage.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $160,000 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
