Opportunity Overview:

Setpoint and Control Systems Engineer

This is a WTSS Contractor Opportunity working a hybrid schedule in Warrendale, PA. You will be expected to work 40 hours per week. You will report to the Supervisor, Setpoint and Control Systems.

This is an opportunity for an engineering contractor supporting Reactor Trip System (RTS) and Engineered Safety Feature Actuation System (ESFAS) Setpoint Uncertainty Analysis, and data / statistical analysis. You will work closely with numerous subject matter experts in a variety of nuclear subsystems to ensure the successful completion of the various tasks.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • Perform and maintain uncertainty analysis using the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approved Westinghouse Setpoint Methodology (WSM) for both AP1000 plants and other domestic nuclear plants.
  • Perform statistical / data analyses to examine the instrument performance (drift) over time, and to project performance over a longer time period.
  • Ensure that the surveillance extensions are adequately addressed in the setpoint uncertainty analysis.
  • Scoping and cost estimating the impacts of design changes on existing designs.
  • Support Project Management on schedule creation.
  • Composing clear and concise reports on the above tasks for internal and external customers.



Who You Are:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering with 10+ years of work experience.
  • Previous knowledge of overall design and operation of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and systems.
  • Statistics and data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
