Requirements Job Overview This part-time position is for a Research Speech Language Pathologist in the Right Hemisphere Emotion, Cognition, and Recovery (RHECO) lab in the Department of Neurology at Georgetown University Medical Center. The lab's federally funded research focuses on the long-term cognitive outcomes of stroke and hinges on the successful and thorough assessment of stroke survivors as well as neurologically healthy controls using behavioral and neuroimaging (MRI) methods. The position holder will be a crucial part of the lab's research team by taking on part of the testing load and training other team members on how to interact with people who have communication disorders. They will join a large, collegial, and vibrant community of researchers interested in brain plasticity and recovery and have the opportunity to participate in Brain Plasticity Seminars and other academic gatherings that bring together researchers from several DC area universities and the MedStar Health Research Institute. Additional duties include but are not limited to:
Work Interactions The position will report directly to the lab's Principal Investigator, Dr. Anna Greenwald, PhD, and collaborate closely with the lab's Recruitment Specialist, the Lab Manager, and the lab's Research Specialist. The position holder will also interface with SLPs in Dr. Turkeltaub's Cognitive Recovery Lab, Dr. Friedman's Center for Aphasia Research and Rehabilitation, and the DeMarco Advanced Research in Neurorehabilitation lab to facilitate referral of participants between studies and unification of procedures across labs. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $26.26 - $48.32 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
