THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking a self-motivated Child Support Enforcement Specialist to join our dedicated team of professionals at the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement. As a member of our team, you will establish and maintain relationships with various groups within the child support enforcement community, the public, other state and federal agencies, and family courts to provide financial security for our Pennsylvania children and families. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Child Support Enforcement Program. You will serve as a liaison between the Domestic Relations Division of the County Courts, the County Assistance Offices, and other federal and state agencies. Your duties will include providing technical assistance to business partners and conducting systems training. Your work will involve preparing reports, performing individual case audits, and analyzing data to ensure proper distribution of child support payments. As a specialist, you will represent the Commonwealth's interest during appeals and hearings, as well as conduct outreach initiatives with outside agencies including hospitals and parenting organizations. Additionally, you will work with customers to resolve child support issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Travel is required.
  • This position will be home headquartered after a 6-month probationary period. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to be home headquartered, you will have the option to report to a department office within Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience in a domestic relations office which included the interpretation, application and explanation of policies and regulations and analysis of information; or
  • A bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training including one year in a domestic relations office which included the interpretation, application and explanation of policies and regulations and analysis of information.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • You must reside in or be willing to relocate to Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties by the time of hire.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment. Under Pub 1075, acceptance of a conditional offer of employment will require submission to and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to: a fingerprint-based federal records check; a PA State Police clearance; a check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years; and a citizenship/residency verification.
