A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Partners with Sales to review order and documentation accuracy in support of product shipment. Follows established guidelines and collaborates with internal teams to ensure compliance with requirements. Operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment that requires adaptability to shifting priorities and strong attention to detail.

WHEN & WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually.

Quality Review Specialists at Tandem are responsible for:

  • Reviews patient-related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with payer, medical, and regulatory requirements; takes corrective action as needed.

  • Submits healthcare claims to insurance payers and fields patient inquiries related to insurance claims.

  • Responds to customer inquiries and collaborates with team leaders, supervisors, and managers to resolve open issues.

  • Communicates information clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Maintains knowledge of Tandem products, services, and industry requirements, completing required training prior to assuming responsibilities.

  • Ensures all work complies with company policies, HIPAA, privacy standards, and applicable regulations.

  • Adapts to a fast-paced, high-volume environment while balancing accuracy, compliance, and customer service.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and job experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience; durable medical equipment and diabetes/disease management device billing preferred.

  • Experience in a HIPAA-controlled environment.

  • Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, including insurance claim submission, follow-up, CMS-1500 requirements, and CMS billing codes/modifiers.

  • Familiarity with claims clearinghouses and their functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, handle multiple priorities, and perform accurately under pressure and changing deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for solving complex problems.

  • Effective verbal and written communication; able to collaborate, share information, and support team integration of new members.

  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You'll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
