The Tutoring Talent Manager will focus on tutor deployment and placement strategies. This role is responsible for implementing tutoring program operations through scheduling coordination, contractor management, assessment oversight, and talent support systems. The primary objective is ensuring optimal tutor availability and maintaining high standards for assessment preparation and execution across all teams.

The Tutoring Talent Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely program launches, with particular emphasis on scheduling coordination and assessment management. This position will maintain comprehensive tutor databases and develop systems to efficiently manage tutoring resources at scale, supporting organizational growth. Additionally, this role contributes to departmental improvement initiatives by analyzing tutor performance data and workforce trends. The Manager will provide analytical insights and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and deliver exceptional service to all program participants.

The Tutoring Talent Manager, will report to the Associate Director, Special Projects, and will work closely with the department's talent team, regional leaders, program managers, various team leads, and other Amplify departments as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall tutoring scheduling strategy and execution

    • Work closely with the Tutoring Talent Department to develop and execute a scheduling strategy that aligns with business needs and ensures on-time launches.

    • Coordinate scheduling and communication across operations and regional teams to ensure tutoring sessions launch on time and teams receive the back-end support needed, including handling reassignments and mid-year regrouping.

    • Facilitate scheduling updates during internal meetings, leveraging tutor availability data to inform program manager strategies for school scheduling.

    • Assist in developing and implementing contingency plans to address gaps in tutor availability during scheduled school sessions.

    • Problem-solve unique scheduling cases and develop solutions to meet customer needs when current systems require adaptation for program launch.

    • Lead scheduling meetings with the product team, provide BAU updates, resolve blockers, and drive product goals forward.

    • Manage scheduling contractors during peak scheduling seasons.

  • Ensure students are assessed on time and with fidelity

    • Coordinate across teams to ensure assessment demand is met, aligned to timelines for on-time launches and mid-year regroupings.

    • Recruit, train, and manage tutor assessors.

    • Refine systems and processes to articulate steps in the assessment process and share status across tutoring engagements.

    • Provide direct regional support with assessment implementation through regional assessment leads (one or multiple individuals).

    • Ensure readiness for both literacy and math assessments.

  • Manage tutor rosters

    • Collaborate with operations and regions around tutor special project endorsements and create and maintain the necessary tutor rosters.

    • Create processes with visibility into information related to tutor rosters to ensure talent supply meets district and school demand.

  • Develops tools and supports

    • Design and refine tools and supports that create efficiencies across regional, operational, and talent teams within the overall tutoring team structure, with a specific focus on tutor talent.

    • Provide tutor and staff training aligned with talent focus areas.

    • Provide visibility into progress across stakeholder groups.

    • Proactively communicate risks or delays and propose mitigation strategies.

    • Responsible for tutor communication strategy related to focus areas.

  • Supports the department's cycle of continuous improvement

    • Track the effectiveness and impact of initiatives through monitoring data, analyzing trends, and proposing data-driven solutions for continuous improvement that inform the department's assessment of current tutoring delivery and potential for growth and improvement.

    • Deeply understand and map current processes, proactively raising opportunities for improvement, redundancies, or risks to leadership.

    • Effectively define strengths in processes to replicate, as well as clearly define issues to

    • address.

    • Ask questions to drive toward clarity and solutions. Navigate ambiguity with ease, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in uncertain situations. Clarify objectives, establish clear goals, and develop actionable plans to move initiatives forward despite uncertainty.

    • Lead and/or support change management efforts to drive adoption of new processes and initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to build buy-in and address concerns. Provide guidance and support to teams throughout the implementation process.

    • Support other team projects and initiatives as business needs arise to optimize talent and ensure smooth implementations.

    • Innovate and react quickly as business realities change, staying up to date on best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of project management experience, ideally in a K-12 education setting

  • The ability to independently plan for and manage complex projects from start to finish

  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Salesforce Field Service Lightning (scheduling platform)

  • Proficient use of Google Suite, including heavily skilled in Sheets

  • Experience analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to identify insights and trends

  • Experience working cross-functionally to manage and execute complex projects

  • Experience communicating, managing and collaborating across large cohorts of diverse stakeholders, ideally contract works

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using mCLASS products

  • Systems thinker with the ability to consider multiple scenarios and priorities

  • Proficiency automating workflows with Zapier

  • Experience developing program management tools and reports

  • Experience managing and analyzing personnel data to inform hiring and scheduling needs, ideally in a K-12 education setting

What we offer:

Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $70,000- $85,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
