Job Description:

The Senior Sustainability Analyst supports the development and execution of the Company's decarbonization strategy, including quantifying its emissions, setting and achieving emissions reduction targets, and meeting reporting requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other relevant entities. The successful candidate will play a key role in the growth of the Company's sustainability practice and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program. The position reports to the ESG Manager and is located in San Jose, CA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Supports the ESG Manager in coordinating across departments to execute the Company's climate change and decarbonization strategy.

  • Enables the Company to meet reporting requirements of the SEC and other relevant entities.

  • Leads the development of scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, including engaging with the Company's third-party consultant on supporting data requests, process improvements, results analysis, and ongoing GHG inventory-related engagements.

  • Improves internal energy and emissions data management, collection, and measurement efforts.

  • Develops carbon abatement curves, climate scenario models, and other relevant assessments to support the Company's climate objectives.

  • Develops and executes a decarbonization strategy to achieve the Company's emissions reduction targets.

  • Develops KPIs for measuring greenhouse gas reduction impact for projects across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.

  • Coordinates across departments on energy and emissions reduction initiatives, including fleet sustainability, operational energy and fuel efficiency, and renewable energy procurement.

  • Engages the Company's value chain stakeholders to collect GHG inventory-related data and support Scope 3 emissions reductions.

  • Prepares presentation materials to communicate decarbonization strategy within the organization, enabling the ESG Manager to engage leadership (including the C-suite and operational management) in defining business cases, synthesizing feedback, and developing tailored strategy roadmaps.

  • Contributes environmental content and metrics to the annual ESG reports and other relevant disclosures (e.g., CDP Climate Change Questionnaire, S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, ESG rating and ranking engagements, investor engagements on climate-related issues, and more).

  • Supports ongoing efforts to identify, assess, and manage climate-related risks to the Company, as well as integrate risk assessment outcomes into business strategy and governance.

  • Builds and supports relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, NGOs, regulatory entities, vendors, and product/service companies.

  • Performs work on-site in the assigned office location.

  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Sustainability, Climate Change, Energy Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, or Economics desired; a Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is a plus.

  • Five years of experience in sustainability and/or climate program development, GHG inventory accounting and verification, carbon foot-printing, decarbonization strategy, sustainability goal setting, stakeholder engagement, environmental reporting, and climate change risk identification and assessment.

  • Experience with ESG reporting frameworks like GRI, CDP, SASB, and TCFD.

Key Competencies:

  • Results-oriented project management and organizational skills and a bias for action while managing multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Expertise in environmental sustainability and technical sustainability concepts.

  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels through establishing positive, mutually respectful, and productive working relationships.

  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment.

  • Excellent written and oral business communication skills.

Salary Range: $102,000 - $189,400
