The Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate financial reports in accordance with GAAP, internal guidelines, and McKesson policies. This role ensures the timely preparation of financial statements, evaluates operating procedures and controls, and drives continuous process improvements. The position supports the Accounting, Reporting, and Compliance (ARC) team. This role serves as a key contributor in a complex environment. Serves as a resource for colleagues with less experience and directs the work of others without formal management responsibilities using internal or external resources to accomplish their goals. This position does not have direct reports but may guide or mentor colleagues informally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report financial results of assigned business units to Controllers, external reporting teams, and auditors.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).

  • Research and explain significant variances in financial reports in collaboration with business units.

  • Assist senior leadership with key accounting tasks and deliverables.

  • Provide ad hoc reports and support special projects.

  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and controls.

  • Investigate and resolve errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports.

  • Maintain general ledger and financial records, including regulatory and management reports.

  • Contribute to process innovation and improvement initiatives.

  • Present findings and recommendations to management and implement approved changes.

  • Serve as liaison with external auditors for statutory audits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires 4+ years of relevant professional experience.

Critical Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.

  • Strong GAAP knowledge.

  • Experience with ERP systems (JDE, SAP, etc.).

  • Proven ability to work with diverse, global teams.

  • Advanced communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Adaptability to change and proactive mindset.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in external, internal, or SEC reporting preferred.

  • Familiarity with HFM and FCCS.

  • Deep understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structures.

  • Process improvement and change management skills.

  • Strong data analysis capabilities.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Power Pivot, Power Query).

  • Ability to influence across all levels, including executive leadership.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • CPA and/or Master's degree preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Work-from-home flexibility with occasional requirements to attend in-office meetings and functions.

  • Deadline-driven role requiring effective time management and multitasking.

  • Significant computer-based work.
