Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and business leadership for a project that is either stand-alone or a subset of a program.
  • Responsible for the technical, cost, and schedule performance of the project.
  • Major activities include strategic planning, customer rapport, teaming, selection of staff and subcontractors, and posturing the company for subsequent phases.
  • Provides comprehensive technical and business leadership including understanding of the technical and programmatic requirements, relevant state-of-the art theories, principles, and practices necessary to carry out the project and customer and funding requirements.
  • Leads cross-organizational teams and approves products for technical correctness and project consistency.
  • Develops, approves and implements methods to achieve cost and schedule reductions, performance enhancements, and new concepts for follow-on future business.
  • Acts as the project focal point for coordination between company and customer management.
  • Perform a variety of duties utilizing electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and similar type systems and equipment to perform a wide variety of tests
  • Support tests ranging from coupon to large scale assembly rig tests
  • Support testing within the lab environment as well as remotely on shop floor and/or customer test facilities as required
  • Work with potentially hazardous equipment or on potentially hazardous test activities, following all safety equipment and processes mandated for those activities.
  • Work directly with internal customers in a supportive and positive manner
  • Ability to travel domestically to support testing at customer facilities
  • Work directly (at times with no other Spirit personnel present) with external customers in a supportive and positive manner that reflects Spirit values and commitment to excellence

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience in project management
