Position Summary
IT manager position within Student Information Systems that is highly experienced and provides technical management and leadership provide research, analysis, application development and support services for the ERP Student system as well as several system integrations/components that are part of the overall ERP implementation at UGA. This position leads and manages both the Banner Senior Analysts and Degree Works teams that provide innovative design and critical thinking for software projects. This role will play a leadership role in recommending specific solution architecture options for various projects to enhance the digital student experience.

Lead and facilitate the technical discovery, research, and implementation new solutions for student information systems under the direction of the Associate CIO for Student Information and Services.

  • Provide technical and managerial leadership for a team as senior level software architect that provides key application development support to custom applications, web services, and system integrations
  • Provide technical oversight and enhancement of the ConnectUGA ERP student system that includes new and existing integration and components for key applications.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships between SaaS vendors, IT, and client community.
  • Recommend technologies and propose solutions to meet new business requirements.
  • Coordinate with functional offices and key stakeholders on IT projects and prioritization processes utilizing appropriate project management techniques.
  • Provide technical leadership to support emerging technology and strategic plans for SIS.
  • Develop innovative enhancements to improve customer experience and self-service.
  • Identify and develop necessary skills that support integration and configuration of SaaS applications.

Provide leadership and oversight into the training and support for technical and functional teams on enhancements of new projects and application system operations

  • Lead efforts to research and identify emerging components that support integration and configuration of SaaS applications to understand APIs, data structures, and integration capabilities.
  • Define, develop and implement enhancements for ERP needs that reflect strategic direction and approved projects.
  • Provide mentorship and support to developers and functional users with building out and maintaining new and complex software solutions.
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to established standards, security for new and emerging technologies.
  • Certifies systems, follow security, and audit processes and procedures as identified in policies and guidelines from UGA, BOR, State and Federal entities.
  • Participate in vendor selection and discussion for key ERP components and integrations.

Manages and oversees Degree Works solutions and integrations within SIS.

  • Provide technical and managerial leadership of the Degree Works system processes by maintaining secure operations performance, automation, and gathering/reporting relevant metrics.
  • Interview and consult with clients; gather data.
  • Provide system design services to clients; scope is not limited to individual department needs, but to enterprise-wide needs.
  • Define, develop and implement Degree Works applications system and integrations for business needs that reflect client requests or approved projects.
  • Direct, supervise and coordinate efforts of application analysts and programmers in planning, designing, testing, documenting and installing information systems and SaaS solutions.
