What you'll do:

As an IT Manager II you'll serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or two functional areas/domains on the system processes and structures that support multiple technology disciplines. In this role, you'll manage mid-size teams that deliver functional projects on time and on budget. Additionally, you'll collaborate with internal business partners to proactively address ongoing customer needs and ensure rapid resolution to open issues. In this role you'll foster a collaborative environment with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery of working software. As an IT Manager you'll assist IT leadership with the delivery of products and services as well as evaluating technology and setting standards. Additionally, you'll recommend improvements to established business processes while continuing to deliver high value in execution. You'll help create and deliver project plans, remove any impediments, and track overall project performance to analyze the successful completion of business short-term and long-term goals.
The Op Res DR Manager II enables staff, Technology, and Business partners in the development of disaster recovery plans, which are activated in response to man-made or natural events affecting the Bank's primary computing facilities. The Manager oversees end-to-end execution of requirements gathering, plan creation and testing, according to architecture standards as defined by Enterprise Architecture. The Manager also ensures workload coverage and distribution among team members in addition to identifying training and development needs to enhance the team's disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Implement safety procedures and data recovery plans. Develop user manuals, as well as policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Work with IT Leadership in employee development, retention, resource planning, talent management, performance management, and achieve a diverse and engaged workforce as well as recruit, train, and evaluate staff member's work.
  • Analyze a variety of data and summarize findings in applicable reports or other communication mediums. Utilize data to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth by collaborating with business and tech leads.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and motivate the disaster recovery team to ensure preparedness and effective response to incidents.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review disaster recovery plans, set objectives, and address any concerns.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and proactive work environment.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Regularly review DR processes and procedures for opportunities for improvement and toil reduction.
  • Set performance targets for disaster recovery drills and monitor progress towards achieving them.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the execution of disaster recovery plans during incidents to ensure smooth and efficient recovery operations.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for disaster recovery projects to ensure they are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to disaster recovery.

Performance Management:

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to disaster recovery team members.
  • Identify training and development needs to enhance the team's disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Address performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Foster effective communication within the disaster recovery team and with other departments.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align disaster recovery goals with organizational objectives.
  • Represent the disaster recovery team in meetings and contribute to cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure timely communications and reporting of test results, KRI reporting and tracking, and other program/team accomplishments.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

  • Identify and resolve issues and challenges related to disaster recovery operations.
  • Make informed decisions based on data analysis and input from team members.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of related experience in IT--App Support, IT--Development, IT--Networking or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required or ten years of related management experience required.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in managing mid-sized technology team within multiple functional areas while ensuring highest quality delivery of complex products or services.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with the execution KPIs and meeting timelines.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Professional certifications in disaster recovery, business continuity, or related areas a plus (i.e., CBCP, ABCP, CBCI, BCCP, CBRM, CBRITP, etc.).
  • Proven experience in disaster recovery planning and execution, with at least 5-7 years in a related role.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in disaster recovery tools and technologies, such as backup and recovery software, data replication, and cloud-based recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning and notification tools.
  • Ability to obtain working knowledge of the organization, to develop a clear understanding of the company's key functional processes and resources, and to influence the organization in integrating disaster recovery strategies, procedures and practices.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
