Position Highlights

The Study Coordinator leads all functions within the trial management structure for the Methadone Patient Access to Collaborative Treatment (MPACT) study-a national, NIDA-funded intervention trial conducted by the Harm Reduction Research Lab at the University of Arizona College of Nursing (PI: Dr. Beth Meyerson). This role also serves as the Site Manager for the trial.

This is a part-time position through Year 1 (ending May 1, 2026), transitioning to a full-time role for the remainder of the study period (through August 31, 2029).

We may be able to offer a hybrid work schedule, within the State of Arizona. As the study progresses there will be consistent in-person workdays.

Duties & Responsibilities

Trial Operations Support and Leadership:

  • Facilitating with Dr. Meyerson and the research team to
    refine the MPACT intervention in preparation for its implementation in the full
    trial.
  • Leads clinic enrollment efforts, which may include
    finalizing data use agreements and establishing monthly patient verification
    processes with clinic champions.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for intervention
    clinic champions and maintains the MPACT fidelity database; responsibilities
    also include monitoring the MPACT study email account to ensure timely
    communication and follow-up.

Study Retention Coordination:

  • Collaborates with Principal Investigator Dr. Meyerson and
    the study retention team to develop and implement effective strategies to
    support ongoing engagement and retention of study participants, including
    clinics, patients, and staff.
  • Managing team operations: scheduling meetings and ensuring
    communications of the MPACT Hub team (all MPACT study team members and the
    DPRAB), and monitoring completion of tasks associated with study milestones and
    timelines.

Data Support:

  • Collaborates with the Data Coordinating and Collection
    Center (Dr. Patrick Rivers) to monitor MPACT clinic enrollment surveys.
  • Prepares data elements for integration into the HEAL data
    ecosystem, ensuring inclusion of all publications related to both the pilot and
    the full trial.

Financial Operations Support:

  • Initiates and tracks sub-award agreements for all entities
    involved in the MPACT study, as well as select sub-awards related to Dr.
    Meyerson's broader research portfolio.
  • Manages the procurement, distribution, and documentation of
    all gift cards used for study participation, including reporting and submitting
    reimbursement requests in collaboration with Dr. Meyerson.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to work on teams of diverse people and groups.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IRB submissions, amendments, documents management, regulatory processes (COI, CTSI, etc)
  • Experience with data software programs and document repositories- -Qualtrics, RedCap, Data sharing ecosystems, SPSS, Excel.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
