SUMMARY:

This position is a fulltime Exempt (salary) position, supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Technical Support Team (TST) Lead trains and assists unit staffs in establishing unit CPs, integrating Mission Command Information Systems, and tactical power generation and distribution. Provides leadership and support to all junior engineers assigned team members and acts acting as the MCTSP POC for planning, executing and assessing TST training events leading up to CPXII/III and WFX for assigned units.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Responsible for providing guidance and knowledge to the TST engineers providing support to the MTC.
  • Conducts overall management coordination for all training environment technical, networking, MCIS integration and required operational support to support these training events. Requires an overall working knowledge base of all positions on the team in order to act as the most senior engineer/mentor.
  • Responsible for providing design, engineering, integration, development, sustainment, installation, testing and acceptance of information systems.
  • Develops engineering designs and technical solutions based on functional and operational requirements.
  • Responsible for conducting system performance analyses, cost/performance tradeoff analyses, and survivability and risk analyses.
  • Develops unit test, and package software and scripting.
  • Provides Integration and Test Support Integration of the Mission Control System subsystems.
  • Participates in verification and validation activities (planning, execution, test reports).
  • Supports the development of Interface Control Documents (ICD).
  • Defines and implements standard operating procedures, implementing DoD, Army, & MTC policies, and creates and implements plans of action and milestones (PAOA&M) in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits & inspections.
  • Assures successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate IT policies and procedures that are consistent with the organizations mission's goals.
  • Responsible for providing operator, instructor, and technical and administrative support necessary to sustain and enhance the effective training of U.S. Army Commanders and their staffs.
  • Provides IT Technical Support for the MTC and its functional training teams.
  • Manages MCS and other related systems with IAVAs and updates.
  • Analyzes progress and develop necessary recovery plans and/or alternatives.
  • Manages and leads the TST with administrative and training oversight of assigned personnel ensuring successful execution to the highest of standards.
  • Reports directly to the MTC Site Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 8 years' experience with Military training/training support (preferred) and Systems Engineering.
  • Digital Master Gunner qualified (preferred)
  • 3 years' experience in MCIS integration at Brigade or higher echelons.
  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience with disciplined system engineering processes applied to the delivery of complex, hardware/software systems.
  • Detailed understanding of hardware and software development processes.
  • Significant development experience in two or more of the following technical areas: RF, Hardware, Software, Communications systems, Network, and Infrastructure.
  • Must meet DOD 8570.01-M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements Level II.
  • Ability to use good judgement and common sense when performing job functions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks at the same time under stressful situations.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of the LVCG concepts.



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, IT Project Management preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security + certification.
