As a team member in the Project Controls group, the Prequalification Analyst plays a critical role in subcontractor, supplier, and consultant prequalification prior to award. The role partners with estimators, preconstruction managers, project managers, and leadership to assess financial and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies that protect the company's interests and support successful project delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with project teams, subcontractors, designers, and Joint Venture partners to manage the prequalification process.

  • Reviews and evaluates prequalification documents including W-9s, Small Business certifications, DIR registrations, city business licenses, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports, financial statements, line of credit letters, OSHA logs, IIPPs, EMR letters, insurance certificates, and bonding letters.

  • Collaborates with project teams to identify subcontractor risks early and recommend mitigation plans.

  • Develops tools and reporting to assess subcontractor risk and increase team awareness ofat-risksubcontractors.

  • Partners with project teams, JV partners, and owners to establish project qualification requirements and subcontractor shortlists.

  • Works with project coordinators and accountants to maintain up-to-date prequalification status throughout the project life cycle.

  • Notifies project and leadership teams of substantial negative changes in subcontractor status (e.g., DNB list placement).

  • Supports estimators by confirming subcontractors financially meet the contract limits of proposed projects.

  • Collaborates with insurance specialists to create potential Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) mitigation plans and participates in monthly reviews of at-risk subcontractors.

  • Manages and optimizes use of prequalification and risk management platforms to ensure processes remain streamlined and automated.

  • Drives continuous process improvement with internal teams and JV partners.

  • Reviews and facilitates audits of the prequalification platform to meet SDI captive standards.

  • Serves as liaison between project teams and internal groups regarding prequalification, risk management, and historical/trending risk data.

  • Partners with Project Controls leadership to develop and implement best practices across projects.

Technical Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Knowledge ofCMiCandBI Dashboardspreferred.

  • Advanced Excel skills a plus.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or Construction Finance preferred.

Range of base pay is $95,000.00-$110,000, considering at least two years' experience. Actual pay is based on individual skill level and experience.
