Coke Florida is searching for Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) Specialist to work out of our Orlando area facility, working Monday - Friday with occasional nights and weekends.



What You'll Do:



The Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) Specialist is responsible for supporting the EHSS Manager with daily activities to ensure adherence to employee health and safety, and facility environmental and sustainability processes, within Coke Florida operations, which includes manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, sales, equipment service, vending, and fleet operations and facilities. Candidate requires knowledge and skills in Process Safety Management, Material Handling, PIT, Environmental Permitting, Regulatory Inspections, and Emergency Management.


Roles and Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for supporting waste management practices and review of required regulatory inspections.


  • Conduct routine inspections to drive safe behavior and coaching in operational activities such as machine operation, material handling, and traffic control.


  • Assist in incident investigation and support learning teams to drive process improvement


  • Assist EHSS manager in monitoring key environmental metrics and in identifying opportunities within utility management processes.


  • Support compliance inspections and programs related to Coke Florida's stormwater and wastewater quality, asbestos, and ammonia strategy including compliance tracking and risk identification.


  • Participate in risk assessments by identifying and assessing potential magnitude of risk (e.g., environmental, safety, regulatory, production feasibility and quality) and creating contingency plans


  • Facilitate preparedness drills for warehouse and operational emergency situations including spills, medical, fire, weather and chemical release.


  • Facilitate compliance training tracking and support operational leaders to ensure on time completion.


  • Monitor compliance calendar and inspections to ensure on time and effective completion and closure of identified compliance gaps.


  • Monitor accident/incident reporting process accuracy and timeliness and track data integrity to ensure Coke Florida's leadership has the most precise up to date safety data


  • Participate in implementation of EHSS initiatives and support project work to develop leadership skills.



For This Role You Will Need:



  • Safety: Knowledge of technical practices and programs used in the reduction or elimination of workplace hazards. Includes knowledge of worker safety regulations as they relate to the manufacturing, distribution, and sales


  • Environmental and Health & Safety Regulations: Knowledge of local, state or federal environmental, health and safety regulations; how to access and evaluate resources as applicable to facilities within Coke Florida.


  • Industrial Hygiene: Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards


  • Technical Communication to Non-Technical Audience: Ability to break down or modify complex technical information as needed to communicate it orally or in writing to non-technical staff (e.g., senior managers, customers or consumers). This includes the ability to use analogies/metaphors understood by the target audience to reinforce points. It also includes the ability to accurately read the audience's level of understanding and adjust the message/presentation to deliver it at the appropriate level


  • Travel to other Florida warehouse and distribution centers required


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience


  • Minimum 0-3 years of relevant working experience (those with no relevant work experience must be a recent graduate of a Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental field, or similar Bachelor's Degree program)
