Summary Responsible for planning, development, direction, and management of all activities related to product development for assigned division's business. Determines the demand for new or enhanced products and services through market research and analysis. Responsible for the development of new/enhanced products from idea generation to implementation. Projects market potential and estimate market penetration. Tracks financial information on the performance of products.

May manage, direct, and/or develop any or all of the following in administration/support of product development for assigned division's business: manages the collection, analysis and preparation of reports for product market share; directs manages activities of staff engaged in supporting market research, product development, and market performance.

Logistics:

This position is onsite full-time (40 hours/week, 8 hours/day) Monday - Friday and is located at 4101 Percival Road in Columbia, SC.

What You'll Do:

  • Manages staff and provides leadership. Ensures effective tasking/utilization of staff while developing their skills and abilities.

  • Identifies, evaluates and manages new business opportunities and marketing initiatives. Contributes to the development of marketing strategies, key messages and product positioning. Coordinates operational readiness and launch activities.

  • Defines and implements new processes and procedures to increase overall project execution efficiency.

  • Provides guidance, direction and support related to the use of data, analysis and research within marketing efforts.

  • May perform any or all of the following in manager role in support of product development for assigned division: ensures overall quality of division's or assigned section's Web sites; maintains proposal database; responds to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring that all responses are accurate and promotes the advantages of products/services; conducts qualitative or quantitative market research in order to monitor the competitor or industry.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's

  • Degree Equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience (Equivalency not applicable for the Celerian Group. Bachelor's degree required)

  • Required Work Experience: 5 years marketing research/product development/E business fields. 1 year of the 5 years must have been in a supervisory or lead role or equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to lead and direct others.

  • Negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate vendor agreements.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex project management initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability working with health care pricing methodologies and the ability to adapt payment methodologies to non-traditional products.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry and the marketplace.

  • Knowledge of multiple aspects of business including claim processing, reimbursement, benefit design, administrative and medical policies, marketing strategies and insurance regulations.

  • Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.
