Pregis LLC is a leading provider of innovative protective packaging materials and systems. We are headquartered in Chicago and operate multiple Global manufacturing and warehousing facilities devoted to protective packaging solutions. Pregis Films is a leading producer of high-performance specialty films used in flexible packaging and other critical performance applications.


Under the direction of Quality Manager supervision oversees packaging operations along with hourly and temporary employees to ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance. Adheres to customer specifications and delivery requirements, while working in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures


Overview: To ensure constant quality monitoring during production. Responsible for maintaining continuous product quality during production and guide workflow by monitoring packaging workforce's quality inspections and packaging process. Performs quality inspections at regularly prescribed intervals and documents accordingly across multiple production lines. Helps employees in the department perform their duties correctly. Helps team operate at or above designated run speeds.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform and document hourly inspections and run profile, retain samples per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)


  • Monitor production, including packaging, for defects and inaccuracies per quality standards; correct and report any non-conformities and initiate hold procedure when needed
  • Regularly conduct audits to ensure quality inspections are being performed
  • Work with Operations to resolve issues per QA SOP
  • Communicate effectively with upcoming shift to ensure smooth handoff; keep open dialogue with staff to minimize delays
  • Help to identify raw material defects, capture relevant information (lot codes, samples, etc.) and forward to Quality Manager

  • Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture


Education:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)


Qualifications and/or Experience:



  • At least two years' experience with Quality in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in English
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to delegate, plan, and schedule accordingly
  • Ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to understand detailed written and/or oral instructions including basic mathematical skills

  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside work
  • Personal Protective Equipment required


Physical Characteristics:



  • Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding
